I wouldn’t recommend a rod of less than 1.75lb test curve for barbel in any conditions, certainly not in the testing conditions we’re talking about here so put the feeder rods down but if you have a carp or pike rod anywhere up to around 3lb test curve it’ll do the job and will be more suited to the floods than normal conditions where stiffer rods may lead to hook pulls
