PYR216 Pyrite Cluster Meteoritic The mines have been closedThis Pyrite crystal specimen is from Peru, a prominent location for different crystal habits of pyrite. An abundant iron sulfide, the chemical formula for pyrite is FeS2. This piece features intersecting and overlapping cubic and pyritohedral crystals, which are an asymmetric type of dodecahedron named after pyrite. The metallic crystals are striated and dusted with gray galena and sphalerite. 1lb 1. 1oz approx. 4" x 2. 5" x 1. 5"
