Hard ruleDescription
one-hectare vineyard
sumptuous wine endowed with considerable depth
all combining into an olfactory smorgasbord for the senses
It is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre (this is sometimes a split of Syrah and Mourvedre) that’s aged mostly in 1-2-and 3-year-old
This is spicier still and a bit riper as well if not quite so elegant on the variety of black berry fruit aromas that are trimmed in very subtle wood
Roger Sabon, Chateauneuf Du Pape Reserve Vintage:2010 one-hectare vineyardInky ruby. Sexy, high pitched aromas of fresh red berries, potpourri and star anise show a hint of smokiness. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a strong suggestion of candied rose. Supple tannins meld smoothly with the wine's fruit on the incisive finish, which hangs on with very good tenacity and echoing floral character. Josh Raynolds
