Mont Ste Agathe was opened in 1953 as Mont Kingston and was renamed Mont Ste Agathe in 1960 when the hill was bought by the company Dveloppement Ste Agathe sur le Lac Inc. it closed during the mid 1970s and re opened in 1985 only to close permanently in 1987. Of course, Ste Agathe is considered to be the cradle of downhill skiing in Canada, perhaps even North America,
