The still red wine was especially deeply-colored and potent in 2022

(from a mix of ~30% young vine 1ers and villages fruit)

The nose is quite similar to that of the old vines Gevrey though here it is perhaps ever-so-slightly more elegant as the fruit slides more to the red side of the fruit spectrum

This is perhaps the most complex wine in the entire range and along with the Amoureuses perhaps the most refined as well as the silky middle weight flavors simply glide across the palate while delivering flat out superb length on the beautifully balanced finale

Like the Santenay there is excellent intensity to the more obviously mineral driven flavors that also conclude in a lingering if youthfully austere finale that would benefit from developing a bit more depth.
