This cultivar is a Tony Hall (Kew Gardens) introduction that he named for his late sister, Jessie. Ipheion 'Jessie' has intensely deep blue flowers, which are even more intense that its parent, Ipheion 'Rolf Fiedler'. The summer deciduous clumps multiply quickly, with short green leaves that re emerge in fall.
