Sun Totem stoneware It has been fired twiceThese sun totems are inspired by the folk art motifs that were used in quilting and the Pennsylvanian Germanic immigrant decoration traditions. This was where European symbolic motifs were blended with themes of creation, life and love, channelled into the art they made for their homes once they came to the 'New World'. This piece is individually made of buff stoneware clay and fired twice very slowly in our kiln, Mordor, to temperatures of 1180C. Her
