Serena, Brunello Montalcino Gemini Vintage:2001 this had just been bottledLa Serenas 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini presents a very dark color accompanied by masses of sweet, over ripe fruit and toasted oak on a full bodied frame. It offers excellent length and persistence on the palate, but the coarse tannins convey an impression of limited elegance. This is another case where the normal bottling was superb but the Riserva is overdone. Anticipated maturity, 2008 2016.
