Jeff Gordon was also a stock car driver. He began racing in 1990. Gordon was the new guy and Earnhardt the elder statesmen. They raced together and both found success. Gordon won the Daytona 500 in 1997 and 99, Earnhardt won it in 98. Sadly, during the Daytona 500 in 2001, Earnhardt died in a crash that occurred during the final lap. And while it's a tragic thing
