They aggregate commonly 12 strands of fiber in a single small form connector, being used in data centers and telecom centers to minimize space used for fiber optic interconnection. MPO cables are used either with Optical Transceivers or in patch panels and cassette distribution boxes. The most common MPO cables have "B polarity" meaning that fibers are crossed over
