Texas Is The Reason "Chain Of Strength" T-Shirt Afrocentric arguably the first death metalTexas Is The Reason was an emo band from New York City founded in 1994. Despite their earlier work with hardcore bands like 108, Shelter, and Ressurection, members Norman Brannon, Garret Klahn, Scott Winegard, and Chris Daly did something much more subdued and melodic. They were quickly signed to Revelation Records and released a debut, self titled 7" in 1995. They followed it up with an LP the following year entitled Do You Know Who You Are? as well
